As with some of our current customers, my passion for watches and mechanical objects started as a teenager. I have studied and worked as a Civil Engineer and an analyst in CAD/CAM through the mid-'90s. My first trip to Geneva was to promote software for designing and manufacturing watch movements. Since then, I have attended the Basel Watch Fair seventeen times. In 1993, while still in the corporate world, I started the European Watch Company (EWC) as a hobby. Slowly, the demand for higher-end watches increased to the level where I had to leave my job and work full time at EWC, taking time off to attend Harvard Business School between 2002 and 2005. I am honored to have many friends all over the world. My wife Caroline and I are blessed with three children. Our oldest, Joshua, graduated from Boston University and is now the CEO of European Watch Company. Our middle son, Allen, is finishing his ophthalmic surgery residency in New York City, and our youngest, David, has a master's degree in finance and operates a chain of medical stretching centers in New York.
