Each week, EWC will be gathering horological industry news, cultural conversations and moments surrounding our favorite topic: timepieces. Happy Friday; here’s what’s on our watch.
August is officially here and that only means one thing: away emails abound. It’s the peak month for summer holiday before we all have to start easing our way into fall and ramping up for the fourth quarter. Like New York City, the watch world is also “the industry that never sleeps,” so while you’re on holiday (hopefully reading this from the comfort of a cabana with a killer view), we’re still here to bring you the latest
Triple the Pleasure, Triple the Fun
Splashing down this week is a trio of new timekeepers.

First up, A. Lange & Sohne offers the unique configuration of its Zeitwerk Date in rose gold for the first time. First introduced in 2019, the Zeitwerk Date combines the collection’s signature digital time display with a date ring, circling the dial. This latest edition is particularly refined thanks to the warm metal perfectly framing the gray dial.

As it turns out, German brands stole the show this week with Glashutte Original launching its first U.S. exclusive: the Seventies ‘X’ Chronograph. The limited edition of just 100 pieces celebrates a decade of the uniquely square shaped Seventies collection. The festivities went down in style at a Miami Beach soiree.

Switching things up a bit, the Chinese brand Behrens and Russian brand Konstantin Chaykin have joined forces for their third collaborative design. The playful model builds on Konstantin Chaykin’s memorable Wristmon series with a lightweight carbon construction and the trademark smile rendered in the form of a sector aperture through which the red seconds hand sweeps, appearing like a tongue.
Tiffany & Co. Takes Asia by Storm

This week, the iconic retailer celebrated the grand opening of its largest flagship in Asia. The brand new “Tiffany Ginza” is located in the heart of Tokyo and features a memorable design inspired by the Maison’s beloved Fifth Avenue flagship. The launch event for Tiffany & Co.’s latest outpost included special guests like Pharrell Williams.
On the Field with Hublot

In soccer news, England took home a victory over Spain at the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Basel, Switzerland where Hublot served as the official timekeeper. The event marked yet another moment for the watchmaker to deepen its ties with the sport, which trace back nearly 20 years to its sponsorship of the Swiss national soccer team in 2006. Since then, Hublot’s work has only expanded, from brand ambassadors like FIFA World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe to serving as the official timekeeper for countless matches
Porsche Design Teams Up with Orlando Bloom

In case you missed it a couple weeks back, Porsche Design added a titanium Chronograph 1 – 1975 Limited Edition to its lineup. The model is a tribute to a rarely seen vintage variant of the Maison’s iconic 1970s chronograph. Headlining the campaign and the launch event was on-screen legend Orlando Bloom.
While You’re on Holiday
A few weeks back, our own Cat Nelson broke down everything you need to know to travel smart and stay safe with your luxury watches and jewelry as you take that well-deserved summer holiday. The team at Maxim liked what our experts had to say, so much so they doubled down on the tips from our CEO Joshua Ganjei in their own feature. If you haven’t read up on these best practices for travel yet, be sure to check them out before your next trip.
